Three more Camerata Concerts and three more guest conductors planned for 2021.

News release January 4, 2021                                                              For Immediate release

Three more Camerata Concerts and three more guest conductors planned for 2021.
SNB continues to celebrate NB talent while searching for the next Music Director.

Symphony New Brunswick welcomes 2021 with three more live Camerata Concerts at theatres in Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton. SNB will also be continuing its conductor search through these concerts with the intention of making an announcement at the end of May.

Camerata main stage concerts will return in March with guest conductor Melanie Leonard and NB superstar Rob Dutton performing a seldom heard Serenade for Flugelhorn, along with the luscious Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings and Haydn’s Symphony #49, le passione.

In April, we welcome Janna Sailor back in a program dedicated to the music of Harry Potter. This will be an extravaganza of costumes, visuals, stories and magical music aimed to please the many generations of Harry Potter fans.

May sees the return of guest conductor Genevieve Leclair in a concert of impressionistic composers and their contemporary (NB) influences. SNB also winds up this 70th anniversary season with a tribute to the first conductor, Kelsey Jones, with a powerful piece he composed in 1954 for Flute and String Orchestra, featuring rising NB/ international talent, Phoebe Robertson.

All covid-19 cautions will be observed by all guests, performers and at all performances.

“New Brunswickers discovering New Brunswick”

“We are absolutely sure that our audiences will be thrilled and proud to hear and see what has developed inside NB over the past 70 years of orchestra music in the province.”

Tickets will be on sale for past subscribers from January 8 and for general release from January 11 at your local theatres. Due to limited seating, regular subscriber seats may not be available. For this reason also, we ask patrons who may subsequently be unable to use tickets to return them to the theatre.

Tickets are $42 for adults and $10 for students. We are offering the same fantastic price of $99 for all 3 concerts at all venues.

The next Virtuoso Series Concert is Sticks and Strings, at which percussion and string bass join the Saint John String Quartet in an eclectic concert that mixes things up a bit.
January 22, 7:30 pm in Fredericton at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre
January 23, 7:30 pm in Moncton at the Community Peace Centre
January 24, 2 pm in Saint John at the Saint John Arts Centre
