Symphony New Brunswick Announces Management Appointment

Symphony New Brunswick is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Sametz of Saint John as Director, Operations and Administration, effective September 1, 2021. This is a new position reporting to the Symphony’s President and replacing the previous position of General Manager.

Mr. Sametz has extensive experience in the arts industry in Saskatchewan, having held several senior positions with the Saskatchewan Arts Board and, earlier in his career, serving as General Manager of the Lethbridge Symphony. He is a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra and has previously performed with Symphony New Brunswick.

Mr. Sametz will be responsible for all aspects of Symphony New Brunswick’s planning, administration, operations and financial management. In commenting on the appointment, Symphony President Reid Parker says, “Peter joins a new team of professionals which is expected to lead Symphony New Brunswick to new heights of artistic achievement. Peter’s skills will nicely complement those of his new colleagues and we are all excited to welcome him to SNB.”

Since her appointment on July 1, Music Director Mélanie Léonard has been finalizing the 2021-2022 season, details of which will be announced this September Tickets will be on sale at the Playhouse and Imperial and Capitol Theatres on September 15th. Planning for the 2022-2023 season is also well-advanced.
