Special Addition to Symphony New Brunswick Virtuoso Series in Fredericton and Saint John

Flights of Fancy

Symphony New Brunswick and Resonance New Music present “Flights of Fancy”, an eclectic concert of music for the unusual combination of voice, violin, string bass and marimba.

Well-known soprano Sally Dibblee will join Symphony members in a brand-new set of songs by New Brunswick’s senior and most prolific composer Michael R. Miller. Miller has set six poems written by his late wife Edith Hoisington Miller, published by Chapel Street Editions in 2016. Each song tells a small and intimate story, often invoking evocative images of nature.

Also featured will be Three Preludes by George Gershwin played by violinist Danielle Sametz, percussionist Joel Cormier and Andrew Reed Miller on bass. Written in 1926, these timeless classics have the vibrant sound of Jazz-age New York.

New Brunswick native Sally Dibblee has performed on stages across North America, most notably with the Canadian Opera Company (Toronto), The Calgary Philharmonic and the Winnipeg Symphony.
