SNB Virtuoso Series: Beat the winter blues with the sounds of the SJSQ!

Virtuoso cover 4

SNB Virtuoso Series continues in 2016 with the Saint John String Quartet in concert in Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John. Join the group for a friendly and relaxed evening of  great classical entertainment !

The 3rd concert of SNB’s Virtuoso Series, “Ebb and Flo” explores constant undulation of music. The centerpiece of this concert is Johannes Brahms’ String Quartet No.3 in B flat Major, music that springs straight from the heart and surges forward rich in sentiment.  In contrast it is accompanied by Mozart’s K458 “The Hunt”, music with a cheerfulness and robust character.  To round the concert off, music by award-winning New Brunswick born composer, Derek Charke.  “Ebb & Evanesce” was commissioned by NY Miniaturist Ensemble who requested of 100 or less notes.   The work depicts  “the disappearance of emotion, the fading away, the numbness that only time and distance allows”.
