SNB presents the NAC Orchestra May 4, 2017 at the Imperial Theatre

Canada’s NAC Orchestra and violin virtuoso James Ehnes come together for an evening of music and storytelling for their Canada 150 Tour. This special performance will celebrate Canadian classical music at its very best.  The evening culminates with John Estacio’s electrifying new work I Lost My Talk, inspired by Mi’kmaw Elder and poet Rita Joe, C.M. The lush musical score is performed with film and live narration, a truly “powerful, overwhelming creation” (Christophe Husse, Le Devoir).

“There are bursts of birdsong from the flute, and the rustle or wind in the percussion and strings…this piece ranks among his [Estacio’s] very best compositions for orchestra,” (Ottawa Citizen).
