CARMEN the BALLET

May 19 in Saint John

May 30 in Moncton

June 1 in Fredericton

Hear/See/ Feel the tragic and exciting Story of Carmen brought live to the stage for audiences in Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John.

This ballet has been choreographed by Igor Dobrovolskiy for the Atlantic Ballet Theatre Company and SNB. The orchestra will be part of the show: on stage, with all the artists interacting in real time under the baton of Maestro Michael Newnham.

The music for this version of the Tale has been arranged by the Russian Rodin Shchedrin for String Orchestra and percussion—enough percussion to require four players. This arrangement has become an orchestral staple but is rarely seen as a ballet with live music.

Igor Dobrovolskiy has created a second stage on top of the stage, so that the orchestra is on two levels, with the dancers in front and Maestro Newnham raised into the air at the front of the stage

This is the must see for 2017 !
