ANDREW REED MILLER, Principal Double Bass

Andrew Reed Miller has been principal bass of Symphony New Brunswick for what seems like a very long time. He is also a composer and improviser and is artistic director of Open Arts, which presents new and experimental music in and around NB.

Originally from New York, Andrew studied in Ottawa and Toronto and eventually toured with The Canadian Opera Company, the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
Miller was founder and organizer of Motion Ensemble (1998-2014) who recorded on the Mode Records label and performed at venues such as Western Front (Vancouver), New Music Concerts (Toronto) and Tonic (New  York).
Andrew has been invited as guest artist by Open Ears Festival (Kitchener), The Confederation Centre of the Arts (Charlottetown), the NB Summer Music Festival, the Scotia Festival of Music, Ensemble Kore (Montreal) and Earshot concerts (Toronto).
Miller has written music for orchestra, dance, chamber music, film, television, and theatre.
